Friends and Visitors

Throughout the years, barbershops have been more than just a place to get a haircut and a shave.  They are also where men gather to discuss the news of the day; politics; or simply just to visit and catch up with old friends.

During the past two years many friends have stopped by.  Most come in to get a haircut and a shave.  Some from a very long distance.  Others from around the corner.  Some I have known for many years.  While others are new friends.  Lets meet some of the folks who have come into Carey's Avenue Barber Shop.

Click on the slideshow above to see photos of various folks with whom I have worked over my 30+ career in IT and business.  Although we no longer work together, they come to visit me for their tonsorial needs.

Many old friends from my days in high school and college have come by to visit as well.  It is great to catch up with these old friends to see what they have done with their lives.

Many folks have come in the door looking for a new barber and have become new friends.

On one occasion, a friend whom I had never met in person; but had befriended on LinkedIn and Facebook many years ago stopped by with her husband while they were on a cross country trip.

As I write this, Mark and Mary are still travelling around the country in their RV they call KngaBlu.  If you wish to follow their adventures check out the BoomerEye Button just below their photo.

So many folks have stopped by, both young and old.  Old friends have met new friends.  Old friends have found a place to catch up.  New friends are coming in every day.  If you have not stopped by the barber shop or have not been here in a while.  Stop in.  You never know who you might meet.
